This is an original #1208 NEW Shirt L/S from late 1990s…our first open-collar shirt initially released in 1994-5…

このシャツは、Post O`Alls最初のオープンカラーシャツである、#1208 NEW Shirt L/Sの当時物・・・モデルデビューは1990年代半ばで、この個体は1990年代終わり頃に生産されたものだと思います・・・

It has versatile open-collar – not small or large…and has edge stitch on collar…the detail you don’t usually see in the vintage world…maybe I thought it was cool and original back then…

大きくも小さくもない、汎用性のあるオープンカラー・・・古着の世界ではオープンカラー＋コバステッチという組み合わせはほぼ見かけませんが、当時の私はこれがオリジナルで良いと思ったのでしょう・・・

This navy color diamond label is a second variation…the first issue had a green diamond…

A label underneath with donut design is made of uncommon fabric…that paper-like material is ideal for cut off at stitch line if you wish…

このネービーのダイヤラベルは２代目で、最初期はグリーンでした・・・下に付くドーナツラベルの材質は特殊なもので、好みによりミシン目に沿って切りとることが出来るんですね・・・

Has pleated acorn-shaped chest pocket on each side…I guess 1940s Lee work shirt was an inspiration…

胸にはプリーツ入りのドングリ型ポケットが二つ・・・たしか、1940年代頃のLee製品がモチーフだったと思います・・・

I remember it was not easy to make these groovy acorn shape…it was really depend on sewing operator’s hand…

この、ドングリの微妙なカーブを出すのが容易ではなかったのを覚えています・・・縫い子さんによって結構個体差が出るんですよね・・・

I designed this small tab…upon request from BAKU & CO. (our Japanese distributor back then)…I took our mascot character “Mr. POST” and redesigned it…yet we didn’t use these tabs for long time…maybe few years around 2000…

このピスマークは、たしか当時の日本代理店であったBAKU&CO.のリクエストでデザインしたような記憶が・・・初期の大判ラベルに使われていたポスト君というキャラクターを反転 & デフォルメした事を覚えています・・・2000年前後のみに使われて、その後フェイドアウトしたと思います・・・

We initially used these thick fish-eye pearl buttons on all of our shirt…these are New Old Stock from NYC’s premium pearl button manufacturer…

You seldom see vintage work shirt with these thick pearl buttons and I liked them…we switched to different design after a while…maybe I got tired of them…or maybe due to the fact other brands started using them…

猫目の貝ボタン・・・日本語ではキャッツ・アイと呼ばれますが、アメリカではFish Eye（フィッシュ・アイ）・・・この形が好きで、初期のポストのボタンは全てNYのプレミアムなボタン屋さんのデッドストックの肉厚なFish Eyeボタンを使っていました・・・ビンテージのワークシャツでこんな貝ボタンを使ったものはレアですね・・・でも、時が経つにつれ同様なボタンを使用するブランドが増えたのと、浮気心が出てきたのとで違うデザインへと変えていったんだと思います・・・

プレーンなバック・・・当時は他のモデルと比べてリラックスした感じを出したかったので、ヨークは太めにデザインしました・・・

This is a reissued #1208 from 2023FW…I used to wear #1208 / #1207（short sleeve）a lot, but these open-collar + straight hem combination started look childish to me from sometime…then we switched to shirt tail…for over 20 years…now I feel like straight hem again!

この一枚は、2023FWに復刻されたもの・・・#1208 / #1207 （半袖）は、リリースされた当時はすごくよく着ていましたが、オープンカラー＋ボックス型の組み合わせがある時期から子供っぽく感じられ、オープンカラーもシャツテイルに変更したんですね・・・その後しばらく（20年以上？）お休みしていましたが・・・今は再び着たいサイクルに入っています！

I love open-collar shirts as they are comfortable and great layering ability…but you see very few vintage work shirt with open-collar…mostly come in short sleeve format…thus I designed NEW Shirt!

私は、やはりオープンカラーシャツの着心地やレイヤリング特性が好きで・・・でもビンテージのワークシャツでオープンカラーは、半袖ものがほとんど・・・それも、あまり古いものは無いんですよね・・だからこんなのが欲しい、を形にしたんです！
