正月は・・・’24SSの新作を着ながら過ごしています・・・

着ているのは、もうすぐリリースになる#1108R  Ranchero 2と、#1397 No.2 Five Pocketのブラック・デニムのセットアップ・・・

ランチェロ２は、個人的に大好きなモデル・・・最後に作ったのは2000年代の前半頃でしょうか？・・・

Ranchero 2 is my favorite jean jacket…the last production was early 2000s?…

これ以前のGジャンにはランチェロというモデルがあり・・・そちらはポケットの形がホームベース型でした・・・

There was Ranchero before this…had a home-base shaped pentagon pocket…

そのポケットをユルやかなドングリ型に変更したものが、このランチェロ２なんですね・・・

Ranchero 2 is a different pocket version with a acorn shaped pocket for laid-back mood…

Post O`AllsのGジャンのバリエーションは、これらランチェロシリーズと、そこから派生したEl Ranchero（エル・ランチェロ）というシリーズがあり、後者はカフスがカバーオールのようなデザインになっており、よりテックス・メックスな（テキサスなどアメリカ南西部の牧童のような）バイブを持っています・・・

Post O`Alls’ western denim jackets (AKA trucker jacket) are fall into Ranchero series and El Ranchero series…latter has workwear type cuff design which was a popular detail for vintage Tex-Mex ranch wear…

オリジナルのランチェロは、私が昔着ていた1920年代のLEVI’Sのファーストジャケットからボディのパターンをとっており、1930年代以降のファーストとは一味違ったプリミティブなバイブを持っていました。

Original Ranchero had its body pattern traced from my 1920’s Levi’s 1st edition jacket…which offer more primitive vibe than later 1st edition jacket…

そんな1920年代のファーストのボディに、1930年代のStronghold製Gジャンのポケットなどのディテールを融合させて仕上げたのが、1990年代後半にデビューした初代ランチェロでした・・・

Then I combined pocket and other detail design from my 1930’s Stronghold jacket…thus original Ranchero was born…in late 1990s…

今回のランチェロ２を復刻するにあたって、そのStrongholdのGジャンの最も特徴的なディテールで、かつテックス・メックスなフレーバーを強調するドロップショルダーのディテールを継承させてみました・・・

This time, reissued Ranchero 2 borrowed its characteristic drop-shoulder detail from Stronghold jacket…that detail give new Ranchero 2 more Tex-Mex vibe…

今回のランチェロ２とセットアップになる#1397 No.2 Five Pocketは、ドングリポケットがデザイン上の共通項となっており・・・フィットもドロップショルダーのランチェロにマッチするオーバーサイズ気味なフィットに調整されています・・・

Matching reissued #1397 No.2 Five Pocket has acorn shaped pocket as well…and enhanced baggy fit suits Ranchero 2 better!

#1108R Ranchero 2

2000年代前半以来、約２０年ぶりにランチェロ２が復活しました。初代ランチェロはホームベース型の１ポケットでしたが、バージョン２はドングリ型ポケットを採用していました。今回のアップデート・バージョンは、ランチェロのインスピレーションでもあったビンテージのStronghold製品のドロップショルダー・パターンを採用して、アメリカ南西部でポピュラーであったテックスメックス・スタイルのカウボーイジャケットに生まれ変わりました。今回久々に登場の#1397 No.2 Five Pocketとはセットアップ設定になっています。

Since its initial release in the early 2000’s, Ranchero 2 has returned from a 20-year hiatus. The original Ranchero had a home base shaped 1-pocket design, the second version featured an acorn shaped pocket. For this updated version, inspiration is drawn from vintage Stronghold pieces, featuring a drop shoulder pattern. It has been reimagined as a Tex Mex style cowboy jacket that was popular in Southwest America.  Designed to be paired with the #1397 No.2 Five Pocket (another rare return).

というわけで、一見フツーですが、着てみるとけっこう独自なムード・・・さらにブラックデニムはどこか都会？な仕上がりで、個人的ブームなブラックのアクセサリーとも好相性なんです・・・

So…they look ordinary at first site…actually not quite so…Black denim has somewhat city vibe…great with black accessories as well…

私が小学生の頃、ファッションに目覚めたアイテムがGジャンとGパンのセットアップ・・・なので、これらは私にとっての永遠のテーマなんですね・・・

Jean jacket and 5 pocket set-up is my soft spot…as they were my breakthrough to the fashion world in childhood…
