先日、世田谷美術館でやっている”民藝”に行ってきました・・・

Went to “Mingei” exhibition at Setagaya Art Museum the other day…

民藝については、以前もブログで書いた事がありますが・・・

Wrote about “Mingei” on my blog a while ago…

私は、民藝のことはよくわかっていません・・・でも、なんとなく感じているのは、民藝とワークウエアは共通点がある、ということ・・・

I don’t know many things about Mingei, but it seems Mingei and workwear have something in common…

１９８０年代当時、私がビンテージ・ワークウエアに惹かれたのは・・・ファッションとしてまだ定義されていないこと・・・何かへの憧れとは無縁なこと・・・権威やおごり、気取り・・・そして、自分を大きく見せるような虚勢が無いこと・・・

The reasons I got into workwear in 1980s are…it was not defined as fashion yet…it does not have yearning towards something…or authority or classy smell…and it does not have an attitude which make you look bigger or richer…

そんな感じだったと思います・・・民藝にも同じような匂いがあるというか・・・そんな気がしています・・・

I guess those moods were in the air…and Mingei seemed somewhat relevant…

当時は誰も知らない、気にしていないような珍しくて古いアイテムを探して着ることも嬉しいのですが・・・その点にこだわらず、その日のムードで着こなしに取り入れる事が幸せでした・・・そして、それらのビンテージ・ワークウエアが当時の現行品と比べていかに優れているかを知ることも楽しかった・・・

Back in the days, I felt happy exploring and wearing rare and old pieces which nobody else knew and cared…but I always tried to forget about it and purely enjoy mixing them in my daily coordinate as the mood went…and love finding how they are superior than then-current counterparts…

そんな、ビンテージ・ワークウエアの輝きをPost O`Allsで表現し続けているんです！

And…I still express the joy of wearing workwear via Post O`Alls!
